After watching this...
...we decided that a pulsating light source would give the canopy a life of its own, emphasising the human flesh-like quality of the material. Whether or not this was possible was another conversation entirely.
FLESHold was created by six 3rd year QUT interior design students as apart of "Changing Lanes", the Friday night launch party for Brisbane InDesign 2012. Inspired by Marina Abramovic and Ulay's performance art piece "Imponderabilia" (1977), FLESHold challenges the traditional notions of personal space and what it means to be a tactile human being. It is a comment on the “skin hunger” of contemporary society, developed as a result of a life bombarded with deceivingly disconnecting technology.
